Another option will be Alexandrite laser. Alexandrite laser cannot easer the pain, but as it is working with shorter wavelength, it's hurt slightly less than some of the other types of lasers.

Tip #2 - Thicker and courser hair? Go for Nd & LP Nd laser

Nd & LP Nd laser is a type of heavy-duty laser. Compare with other lasers, it have the longest wavelength, which means it can penetrate the deepest. Nd & LP Nd laser are more likely to reach the very bottom of the root of the hair, so it works best on thicker and courser hair. On the other hand, due to Nd & LP Nd laser has the longest wavelength, it also means the treatment will give you more uncomfortable feeling than any other lasers.

Tip #3 - Light skin tone? Go for Alexandrite or Soprano laser

Due to short wavelength of Alexandrite laser, it works very well on people with light skin tones. Another option will be Soprano laser. It has adjustable wavelength laser head, which can be set to shorter wavelength to targeting light skin tones. However, there is a disadvantage of Alexandrite laser. It needs more sessions to achieve permanent hair removal result (upto 3 years).

Tip #4 - Dark skin tone? Go for Nd & LP Nd or Soprano laser

Nd & LP Nd laser is the best type laser for individuals who have darker skin. With darker skin, the hair follicles are not easily been destoried as part of laser energy will be spread out and absorbed by darker colour skin. Nd & LP Nd lasers have the longest wavelength, which means guaranteed hair follicles can be destoried. Soprano laser as mentioned above can adjust its wavelength close to Nd & LP Nd laser, so it also work efficiency on darker skin. The disadvantage of Nd & LP Nd laser is very painful during treatment. So if you got dark skin tone, Nd & LP Nd laser will work on you at the best but also give you more painful feeling. Soprano laser may not as perfect as Nd & LP Nd laser for dealing with darker skin, but it still can delivery similar result. Plus, Soprano laser can easer most of painful feeling during treatment. Don't waste your money on other type of lasers, as they only have limited effect on darker colour skin.

Tip #5 - Looking for Bargain? Go for IPL

IPL stand as intense pulsed light. Yes, as the name indicates, it is just a light. It is totally different with laser hair removal. IPL is highly customizable to the individual functions by adjusting the wavelength and power levels. hair removal is part of IPL function. The good things about IPL is bargain. The equipment is much cheaper than standard laser equipment. Therefore, it is not like laser need highly trained therapist, so lots of beauty salon use IPL instead of laser for their hair removal treatment. Please be aware, as IPL is not as powerful as laser. So compare with laser, IPL normal need much more sessions for achieving same result.

Tip #6 - Less sessions for completion? Go for Diode or Soprano laser

The number of sessions normally ultimately vary based on each individual. But compare with other types of lasers, Diode and Soprano laser normally require less session for completion. For some individuals, Soprano may only need 3 sessions to achieve the permanent result (upto 3 years). However, don't take this as guarantee. As I mentioned above, the results may vary based on each individual. Some people may need couple of extra sessions compare with others. This is entirely depending on every indivial's physique.

In summary

In average, Soprano laser is the best choice for most of people. Thanks for advanced technologies, Soprano can easer the pain during treatment and its adjustable laser head can work efficiency on most skin tones and hair types. Alexandrite laser work best for light skin tone but will need more repeat sessions. Nd & LP Nd laser work best for dark skin tone and courser hair but give you stronger painful feeling. IPL is the most affordable option but need more repeat sessions for best result, and results won't last as long as standard laser.
